2026 Fall Chess Term Introduction

The 2026 Fall Chess Term runs from September 12, 2026 to mid-January 2027 - 16 weeks, one 1.5-hour class per week per group (lecture and practice), online or in person. No class on Thanksgiving (Oct 10-12) or the winter break (Dec 21 - Jan 3). (Debate & Public Speaking return in a later term.)

CCYC reserves the right to change the coach before or during the term, and to combine or cancel a class if fewer than 6 students are registered before the term starts.

Registration

• Each account registers one student. To register more than one child, create a separate account for each (using a different email address).
• Find your child's group on the Chess Schedule and note its group code - clicking Register takes you straight to that group on the booking page.
• For the best experience on a phone or tablet, turn your device sideways (landscape) when browsing the schedule.

Schedule Changes (Reschedule Policy)

Your weekly class is fixed for the term. Each family has 2 schedule changes per term, handled instantly online from My Schedule with at least 24 hours notice.

• First choice: the same level with a different teacher, any future week (online and in-person classes are interchangeable).
• Same teacher, same level: only within the same week (so no lesson content is repeated).
• Also allowed: one level up or down (e.g. Advance-2 may switch into Advance-1 or Advance-3).
• Changes made less than 24 hours before class, or beyond the 2 included changes, aren’t possible online - contact us and we’ll do our best to help: ccycservice@gmail.com or WeChat ELSA_CCYC.
• Moving up a level mid-term is arranged by your coach and CCYC - contact us.
• If CCYC cancels a class (technical issues or events beyond our control), a free make-up is arranged - no refund is issued for CCYC-cancelled classes.

Refunds (2026 Fall Chess Term)

Term fees are non-refundable once registration is complete. Instead of a refund, use your 2 schedule changes to move classes you can’t attend (24+ hours notice, from My Schedule).

Exceptions:

• If CCYC cancels a course due to insufficient enrolment or other reasons, a full refund will be processed.
• CCYC understands unexpected family situations - please contact us and we'll work out a plan together.

Photo & Video Consent

At registration, the parent/guardian can choose whether CCYC may use photographs and videos shot in classes and events for external and internal promotion. This is optional and separate from the terms above; to change your choice at any time, email us at ccycservice@gmail.com.

Your Account & Payments

Check your class credits and bookings any time in My Schedule. Once your payment is received and confirmed, your 16 class credits are added to your account and you'll receive an email confirmation.
